The Senate Finance Committee is expected to vote on amendments to add a choice of a public health insurance option to Max Baucus's bill on Tuesday. Even though your Senators aren't on the Senate Finance Committee, it's urgent that you call your Senators right now and tell them where you stand on a public health insurance option.

With just days remaining before Congress returns to D.C. to tackle health insurance reform, we're organizing our biggest push yet to show local support for change -- our "Health Insurance Reform Now: Let's Get It Done!" events.

There are thousands of gatherings across the country, and the event this Thursday in Cleveland could be one of the best. I hope you can be there as we hear from local leaders and present the thousands of declarations of support for reform that we've been collecting in Ohio for months.

 From August 12-14, Mayor Frank G. Jackson will host a three-day summit, bringing together a diverse group of people vested in and dedicated to Cleveland to use their vast knowledge and imagination to create an action plan for building a green economy for Cleveland’s future. This summit will be facilitated by Dr. David Cooperrider of the Fowler Center for Sustainable Value (my teacher, advisor, mentor and friend) at Case Western Reserve University, my alma mater (x2).

Sometimes there's no bigger impact than hearing from City leadership itself.  There is no excuse not to apply and attend - to have your voice heard, and to make a difference !   Come help us.

Introduction

Any one that takes the time to read my blog posts over the past five years can see what I've represented since that time, and in many ways, for much of my life.   For some of us, the life story starts with one of privilege - we may be born to wealthy parents, with millions of dollars - and enjoy all the entitlements that are inherent within.  My parents immigrated here with barely a dollar in their pockets, from a lower-middle-class family upbringing.  They traveled against the odds, with little more than my dad's acceptance to medical residency,

Strategic direction : it's such an important thing, as Ed Morrison has long driven home.  Strategic doing, to me, involves careful planning and action - and its reassuring to see the core of talented thought leaders that have comprised this collective.

Deconstruction is a wonderful opportunity to create revenue from what would typically be waste material that would be directed to landfill otherwise. The typical cost of demolition of a typical home in an underprivileged community often exceeds $8000. In addition, demolition needs to be accompanied with the use of excessive water - which is another form of waste - to ensure toxins like lead, asbestos, or mercury do not spew into the surrounding air, soil and water. When deconstructing, this toxicity spread and water use is circumvented.
